Slash Exits X (Ex-Twitter), Reveals Reasons in Official Statement

Slash has departed from X, previously referred to as Twitter, and provided the rationale behind his exit in a statement before leaving the social network.

This isn’t the first time a rock or metal artist’s X account was compromised by crypto scammers — it happened to Metallica last summer as well .

As a result, Slash has decided to leave the platform, though he’ll still be active on his other social channels.

"I want to let you know that I've made the choice to leave Twitter/X and will not be participating on this platform anymore. This decision came after multiple hacking incidents, and it signifies a change in my approach to staying connected going ahead," he stated in his message.
