$200K Grant Boosts AUM's Artificial Intelligence Initiatives

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( WSFA AUM’s College of Business received substantial funds from an Innovation Alabama Network grant, aimed at fostering innovation throughout the state.

On April 9, AUM obtained $200,000 with the aim of fostering new artificial intelligence projects for students, teachers, and businesses. The institution was among the 58 entities to receive a portion of the $15 million in grant funds distributed.

Innovation stands as a key cornerstone for educational change at AUM," stated AUM College of Business Dean Daewoo Park, who applied for the grant on behalf of the institution. "Our strategic blueprint underscores a significant focus on innovation and distinction, and this funding enables us to introduce innovation into our business courses uniquely.

The grant will finance the multi-year, institution-wide "Alabama Talent Development Project," aimed at boosting AUM’s innovative initiatives. Master of Science in AI (MSAI) This program is unprecedented in Alabama as it resides within a business school. Additionally, it aims to forge new strategic collaborations for workforce development with prominent local industries.

“Part of our initiative includes developing an AI curriculum, attracting students, and providing training programs for local business executives,” said Park.

The Innovate Alabama initiative represents the state’s premier collaboration between public and private sectors aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation. Its primary objective is to support entrepreneurs in thriving within Alabama as they cultivate a forward-thinking economic landscape.
