A few weeks ago, Google promised us the 24 hours of data within the Search Performance report Soon, users will gain access through the Search Console API, which allows them to look back 8 days. However, as of today, this API access is being rolled out with an extended period of 10 days instead of just 8 days.
What Google said. Google posted on X Just now stating, "As of today, we're introducing hourly data support to the Search Analytics API; we've clearly understood from our community’s feedback that making this information more readily available was essential. This update allows the API to provide data covering up to 10 days, broken down into hourly segments."
Knew it was coming. At today's Google Search Central Live event held in Madrid, Google announced its release for this day, and here it is:
24-hour data. Initially, when Google made this announcement, they stated that "this view encompasses data from the past 24 hours and will be displayed with just a slight delay of several hours." Google also mentioned:
The '24-hour' perspective provides hour-by-hour detail within an overtime chart, accessible across three performance reports: Search Results, Discover, and Google News. In order to display information promptly, Search Console will present data points immediately upon receiving initial data, despite not necessarily having gathered complete details for those specific points yet. This partial-data status will be visually noted with a dashed line in the interface.
Export. Google introduced the capability to export the data A few file formats were available for download back in January. However, as of now, you have the option to retrieve the data through an API, allowing you to obtain more up-to-date information directly into your internal systems or external SEO tools.
Why we care. Accessing this information beyond the web interface within Google Search Console can greatly assist with troubleshooting and uncovering fresh perspectives. By utilizing API access, you have the capability to create custom reports and dashboards for viewing this data, nearly instantaneously, through Google Search Console. However, keep in mind that newer data isn’t always definitive; therefore, revisiting the figures might be necessary at times, particularly based on the specific type of report you aim to produce.
Monitor this data, cross-check it with the other export files, and determine how best to utilize it for enhancing your website and content progressively.
Make sure to try retrieving this information through the API today to explore what you're able to accomplish with it.
