
I'm uncertain whether it's due to the years of performing Mario Kart Or perhaps a habit of sometimes wagering my cash on horse races (Farewell to Arlington Park racetrack), there’s an unmatched thrill in having a stake in a close competition that no other experience can match. Fortunately, Downforce is here to satisfy that desire—without the frequent visits to the ATM.
A revamped edition of the 1996 title crafted by acclaimed designer Wolfgang Kramer, Top Race — which itself incorporated elements from his earliest released game, Tempo , all the way back in 1974— Downforce maintains the immaculate engine intact, but refreshes its faded exterior with a fresh layer of paint along with stylish racing stripes. I am thoroughly impressed by the minimalistic artwork and contemporary graphic design featured in this update. The maps and cards are remarkably sleek and polished. Everything appears fantastic when laid out on the table.
