Amazon's Project Kuiper Kicks Off First Mission Tonight at 7 PM

Amazon’s Project Kuiper is scheduled to initiate its first mission by launching 27 satellites into space.

The launch is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The Atlas V rocket transporting the satellites features five GEM-63 solid rocket boosters along with a 5.4-meter-wide medium-size payload fairing.

The payload fairing will separate approximately three minutes into the flight, and the RD-180 engines, which useRP-1 refined kerosene and liquid oxygen as fuel,will keep firing until about 4 minutes and 23 seconds into the mission.
