ULA Delays Launch of Amazon's First Major Satellite Batch from Florida

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (WFLA) — United Launch Alliance was scheduled to assist Amazon in launching its initial set of Project Kuiper satellites from Florida on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, following several postponements, the launch was eventually canceled because of adverse weather conditions, such as extensive cloud cover and strong gusts of wind.

The Atlas V rocket was originally set to lift off at 8:03 p.m. from Launch Complex 41 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Nevertheless, the launch has been pushed back to an unspecified future date.

A new launch time hasn't been established yet.

The objective of Project Kuiper is to deliver swift and dependable internet access globally, particularly benefiting areas lacking service, through a network comprising over 3,200 low Earth orbit satellites.

The Atlas V rocket will launch the initial set of satellites for the constellation into low Earth orbit (LEO).
