The number of these crimes has significantly risen in recent years," Chatman stated. "This surge is primarily due to their substantial market worth and widespread appeal, which makes them among the top targets for theft and often ends up fueling the black-market trade as some of the most pilfered canines in America.

The price of French Bulldogs typically ranges from $3,000 to $5,000, with some fetching even higher prices due to their rare coat colors or pedigrees. This high value makes them an attractive target for criminals aiming to make fast money through theft.

Specialists emphasize the significance of adopting preventive steps to safeguard pets. While microchipping is crucial, employing more proactive monitoring methods might offer enhanced security.

The top priority should be a GPS collar discreetly placed inside their harness, or alternatively, an Apple AirTag concealed within the same harness. This way, you can quickly locate your pet if it goes missing, as suggested by Chatman.
