Boxing frequently encounters criticism; however, the members of Rose City Boxing have a clear understanding of its value.
Zaedyn Champlain, in particular, shares that without boxing, he struggles to envision where he would be without it. Having developed a deep passion for the sport, Zaedyn and his peers are now committed to pursuing it as a career, recognizing the profound impact it has on their lives.
Boxing has significantly influenced these teens.
Wakeil Hendrickson, who owns the gym, stresses that participating in sports significantly enhances mental well-being, increases self-understanding, and motivates teens to adopt a more healthy way of living.
Furthermore, boxing assists students in cultivating robust self-discipline and organization in their daily routines, which aids significantly in their comprehensive personal development.
The FOX 61 Student News initiative enables Connecticut's middle and high school students to delve into the realm of multimedia journalism by providing them with the chance to shoot, edit, and release their own work, all under the mentorship of seasoned experts in the field.
Every participating student will create and present a segment spotlighting a notable local tale or occurrence, celebrating everything splendid about our state. These segments will air during the Friday morning, evening, and late-night newscasts at 7:45 AM, 5:45 PM, and 10:45 PM respectively, as well as part of the FOX61 Morning News broadcast on Saturday at 7 AM and online at FOX61.com!
