Users are experiencing better search accuracy, which has led to an increase in people directly accessing the Reddit homepage via Reddit Answers, thus boosting overall platform interaction.
Reddit Answers is still in beta and hasn’t been rolled out globally yet.
In late 2024, Reddit introduced the Answers feature onto its platform. According to the company, Reddit Answers is intended to assist users in finding relevant information, suggestions, discussions, and insights directly within their interactions and community spaces on the site. This new tool is meant to encourage users to stay on Reddit instead of searching for posts through external engines like Google.
Integrating with Google’s Gemini assistant enables Reddit Answers to offer more precise searches along with summaries, follow-up queries, and the capacity for engaging in synthetic dialogues regarding the material. Additionally, this Geminite incorporation might help Reddit effectively rival OpenAI’s ChatGPT and similar generative AI chatbots that leverage its information.
Currently, Reddit is providing the Answers feature as part of an 'early access' release in English exclusively for web and iOS users within the U.S. There has been no announcement yet about when this feature might be available internationally.
