
Microsoft is currently developing updated icons for some of its well-known applications. The company is seeking input on designs for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, along with various other Microsoft apps.
A Microsoft survey email was sent our way by one of our readers.
Microsoft is continuously working towards enhancing our offerings and delivering an exceptional user experience tailored just for you," states the email. "We’re thrilled to extend an invitation today for you to take part in a short 15-minute survey aimed at helping us gain deeper insights into your likes and views regarding various icon design concepts being considered for Microsoft 365.
People who take part in the survey will receive a $10 gift card as an incentive.

Upon first look, the updated icons exhibit greater visual depth than the present ones. Even though flat design has been prevalent recently, these new icons bring more character to the table.
It seems as though it was only yesterday that Microsoft changed the design of its Office icons. However, it has actually been more than six years now. Prior to this period, Microsoft’s Office applications maintained the same design for approximately five years.
In my view, these new icons represent progress. They not only possess greater depth compared to the present ones but also vary distinctly from one another.
Several of the present Microsoft 365 icons essentially use the same graphic but with different color schemes. However, the updated versions of Word and Excel have more distinctive designs compared to others in the suite.
Significantly, none of the icons have been substituted with the Copilot logo. Recently, the Microsoft 365 logo underwent a change. resulting in humor and critique .
Sure, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, along with those currently undergoing icon redesigns, represent some of Microsoft’s best-known offerings. It might seem odd for Microsoft to move away from their iconic branding. However, these updated logos merge familiar aesthetics with contemporary design features.
