ALBURY, GA (WALB) — On April 8, Charlotte-headquartered aerospace firm Honeywell Aerospace Technologies conducted tests for the next generation of air travel safety at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport.
The aviation collision avoidance system that underwent testing is intended to stop crashes between airplanes.
The National Transportation Safety Board reports that more than 1,200 civil aviation accidents occurred in 2023, with nearly 200 of these incidents resulting in fatalities.
Honeywell chose not to reveal the title of the collision avoidance system.
