Florida Students Set to Chat Live with NASA Astronaut in Space Station

Dade City, FL – In an extraordinary chance for students in Dade City, they will be able to engage directly with NASA astronaut Nichole Ayers, who is presently stationed at the International Space Station.

During a live 20-minute broadcast scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 11th, the astronaut will answer a sequence of prerecorded queries from area students through NASA+'s platform and various NASA social media channels.

The event is being organized by Academy at the Farm, a charter school located in Dade City, and is accessible to both students and their family members.

The school aims to ignite enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by offering students an insider’s view of life and research onboard the space station.

Over the past twenty years, the International Space Station (ISS) has maintained continuous human presence, with crew members performing crucial experiments, pioneering advanced technology tests, and getting ready for potential space expeditions further from our planet.

The communication link between astronauts and NASA’s Mission Control in Houston is facilitated via the Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Near Space Network.

Astronaut Nichole Ayers, who lifted off with the SpaceX Crew-10 mission in March 2025, is currently stationed at the International Space Station for her role in Expeditions 72 and 73.

She is set to come back to Earth in July.

Part of NASA’s larger Artemis initiative, the space agency intends to send astronauts back to the Moon with the ultimate goal of landing humans on Mars.

These events aim to motivate the next cohort of adventurers, providing youthful intellects with a hands-on link to America’sspace initiatives and the scientific progressions molding our tomorrow.
