After repeatedly losing and facing harassment from online commentators, Elon Musk abruptly ended a video game livestream.
Mr. Musk, who tops the list as the planet’s wealthiest individual, was seen playing Path of Exile 2 on his personal airplane via streaming during the weekend. His aim was to demonstrate how Starlink’s inflight Wi-Fi operates.
For approximately 90 minutes, he largely remained silent as his digital persona continuously met their end, even though he had proclaimed himself to be among the top players globally for this game.
Although Mr. Musk is a part of Donald Trump’s circle. Within five minutes of opening his in-game chat to everyone, rather than keeping it limited to his close group, cyberbullying ensued. Trolls quickly joined and started harassing him over topics like his gaming abilities and supposed romantic troubles.
A message displayed on screen next to Mr. Musk's image stated, "You will constantly feel insecure, and this feeling will persist indefinitely."
A different user, acting as a conservative commentator claiming to be the parent of Mr. Musk's 13th child, posted: "Elon, this is Ashley St. Claire. Since I couldn’t reach you otherwise, I purchased Early Access to PoE2. Could you please handle the child support? Thanks, Elon."
Mr Musk was instructed to carry out a sexual act on Mr Trump so that the U.S. President would "suffer a fatal heart attack."
A different message stated that Vivian Wilson, Mr. Musk’s divorced transgender daughter, accurately pointed out his poor skills when playing video games.
A few tried assisting the billionaire by suggesting he mute the in-game chat to halt the flood of hateful comments.
Other individuals urged others to make purchases. Tesla stocks , or expressed gratitude for his efforts with Starlink and Doge, the government efficiency initiative led by Mr. Musk.
‘Connection lost’
Following multiple deaths of his character at the hands of the "boss" in the tutorial designed to introduce fundamental controls, Mr. Musk abruptly left, claiming that the connection had been severed, despite the stream remaining active.
Rage-quit means exactly what it sounds like: the act of quitting an activity, in this case, a video game, because it was becoming increasingly unbearable.
“Well, lost connection,” he told viewers. “Connection lost.”
Path of Exile 2 is said to be among the favorite games of the billionaire.
Nevertheless, Mr. Musk’s assertion of being among the world’s leading figures in this domain hasn’t withstood closer examination, especially following reports that the Tesla CEO confessed to hiring individuals to enhance his status within the game.
The game is an RPG adventure taking place in a fantasy realm where players take charge of a character who acquires new abilities through quest completion and enemy vanquishment.
Although not completely unveiled, an early access version has been provided to elite members.
