PS Portal's Cloud Streaming Beta Adds Automatic Pauses and Screen Captures

Today, Sony is introducing a range of new products. new additions to the PlayStation Portal's Cloud Streaming feature The beta version of the platform will receive enhancements including sorting games based on their recent addition, alphabetically either normally or in reverse, or according to their release dates.

Next up is the pause function, which halts the game when you decide to open it. PS Portal The quick menu is available during gameplay, which automatically pauses when you access this menu. Additionally, pressing the power button will cause the game to pause too. Keep in mind that failing to unpause within 15 seconds may result in disconnection from the cloud streaming service. Furthermore, should a system alert appear on your display, it will trigger an automatic pause. Nonetheless, these functionalities have not been implemented for use in multiplayer sessions at present.

You'll gain a better understanding of when it’s your turn to join in the gameplay. If the streamer's server is at capacity, you’ll receive an approximate waiting period before being seamlessly integrated into the game. Additionally, there’s a fresh feature called the create button: holding it down snaps a screenshot, whereas tapping it twice initiates recording a clip from the game. These recordings will be stored within the PlayStation App library section labeled as captures for two weeks.

Two additional minor changes have been made to Cloud Streaming. Firstly, you’ll get a notification for inactivity after 10 minutes of not performing any actions, serving as a reminder that your session is nearing its conclusion. Secondly, a user feedback screen will appear at the end so you can share with PlayStation any thoughts or suggestions you might have.

Sony first announced The Cloud Streaming trial concluded towards the end of last year, and it’s now accessible to all PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers as part of a beta test. This experimental feature enables you to stream specific games directly from PlayStation’s servers, irrespective of whether you have a PS5.
