The Lone Palm Airport Bar at Universal CityWalk Orlando has resumed operations, though construction activities are still ongoing.

The bar is an extension of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville theme. shut down for construction in early March The work comes several months following Jimmy Buffett’s aircraft, the Hemisphere Dancer, being taken off the patio at the bar .

The construction barriers still surround the patio area. Glimpsing through them reveals newly laid pavement underneath. Not long ago, This area was primarily composed of dirt. , but it has been cleaned up, and most of the construction materials have been removed.

The planters are positioned alongside three round elevated concrete stages. Two of these stages feature poles with wires protruding from them. These seem likely intended to help secure the aircraft upon landing.

The crews have put in place a new straw roof over the actual bar, which has now resumed operations. Chairs and tables have been placed back out in front of the construction barriers.

Additional seating can still be found near the waterfront area.

When the Hemisphere Dancer was taken away last year, Margaritaville stated in an official release The aircraft is scheduled to come back in 2025. This recent construction probably aimed to ready the bar for the airplane's upcoming return.
The Hemisphere Dancer is a Grumman HU-16 Albatross seaplane produced in 1955. Initially, it served with the U.S. Navy. In 1995, Buffett bought and refurbished it before renaming it the Hemisphere Dancer.
In one of Buffett’s aerial escapades detailed in the song "Jamaica Mistaica," he found himself involved in an unsettling event on January 16, 1996. That day, Jamaican law enforcement fired upon his aircraft under suspicion of drug trafficking. Among those aboard were Buffett; his spouse; their two offspring; Bono from U2; and Chris Blackwell, who founded Island Records. Fortunately, everyone escaped unharmed.
The Hemisphere Dancer also makes an appearance in Buffett’s memoir, "A Pirate Looks at Fifty," where he recounts his journey through the Caribbean, Central America, and South America for his fiftieth birthday celebration.
